Porto Puddu or Porto Pollo, located between Palau and Santa Teresa Gallura, is a large sandy river inlet surrounded by Mediterranean bush that is separated from the bay of Porto Liscia by a thin strip of sand leading to the Insuledda peninsula, more commonly known as Isola dei Gabbiani (Seagull Island).
Its fine sandy beaches, its sheltered rocky bays, the crystal-clear emerald waters, the colours and fragrances of the Mediterranean bush, rich in mastic, myrtle and cistus, are all characteristics of this part of the northern coast of Sardinia.
Surrounded by sandy dunes modelled by the wind which are coloured by the setting sun, this is a truly enchanting and magical setting.
The characteristic winds in Porto Pollo attract a large number of sports people who practice windsurfing, kitesurfing and sailing.
The sea beds of the Maddalena Archipelago Nature Reserve provide excellent opportunities for diving, and the inland area is full of trails for Mountain Bike enthusiasts of all levels.
The almost 3 km of beaches in Porto Pollo and Porto Liscia are equipped will all the essential services for beach activities, such as bars, restaurants and sports centres, without obstructing free access to the beaches.
The hotels, set in a truly beautiful atmosphere, respond to all the needs of tourists.
